The scouts had planned to fly kites made at an earlier troop meeting. We picked Curt Gowdy State Park based on last year's campout where scouts almost got blown over from the wind and in Wyoming the wind always blows. Well we picked the one weekend where there was NO wind - absolutely no wind. The park ranger did not like that we were complaining about lack of wind. The scouts tried to get the kites up but no such luck. Instead we got snow and cold temperatures. For those that camped out count on 59 frost points. Snow accumulation was 9 inches.
We stayed at Hynds Lodge which is a great location for late/early season campout and for the Webelos that joined us for the weekend. Scouts stayed in the lodge while some of the adult weathered to cold and snow outside. From the troop we had about 35 scouts and 17 adults attend. We had about 7 Webelos and corresponding adults.
The adults ate some great food - Breakfast Burritos, sandwiches for lunch and Lasanga with cobbler for desert. The scouts - well - you'll have to ask them.
Thanks to everyone for helping out and making this a great weekend.
